The factory of the future is not just automated — it's intelligent, connected, and built to adapt in real time.
PRIME-6G is driving this transformation.
By bringing next-generation 6G technologies into industrial manufacturing environments, we are laying the foundation for factories that are faster, smarter and more resilient than ever.

With 13 partners across 6 European countries, we are building an integrated end-to-end sustainable platform that combines 6G connectivity, AI, robotics, cloud-edge computing and real-time sensing to demonstrate what is possible when these technologies work together in a real factory environment.
Our trial and pilot activities span laboratories in Madrid and Munich, culminating in a TRL7 demonstration at the ARENA2036 facility in Stuttgart, one of Europe's leading smart manufacturing testbeds.

Shaping the Future of Intelligent Manufacturing
Factories are constantly evolving, but the pace and complexity of this transformation are increasing rapidly. Legacy infrastructure, fragmented systems and connectivity gaps are holding manufacturing environments back from their true potential.
At PRIME-6G, we envision a future where factories become fully interconnected, autonomous and adaptive ecosystems powered by seamless 6G communication.By combining deterministic communications, industrial automation, and intelligent computing, we are helping pave the way for more flexible, sustainable, and human-centric manufacturing that can respond in real time to operational challenges, production variability, and emerging market needs.
What We Are Building
PRIME-6G is developing an integrated, end-to-end sustainable platform based on a Cloud-Edge Continuum, enabling seamless, agile service provisioning across smart manufacturing environments.
Every element of the platform is designed to operate together — reliably, efficiently, and at an industrial scale.
Our key objectives:
Develop and validate an integrated 6G industrial platform based on Cloud-Edge Continuum architecture
Enable AI-driven network and compute optimisation for industrial automation
Demonstrate deterministic, end-to-end connectivity for real-time robot and cobotic control
Advance real-time environment sensing and digital twin capabilities using Integrated Sensing and Communication (ISAC) technologies
Conduct a TRL 6-7 trial at ARENA2036 in Stuttgart, Germany, a real-world smart manufacturing facility
Contribute to more flexible, resilient and efficient manufacturing ecosystems
Two Use Cases. One Integrated Vision.
PRIME-6G is structured around two complementary industrial use cases, each addressing key challenges in modern manufacturing.
USE CASE 1
AURORA
Advanced Unified Robotics Operations via Resilient Automation
AURORA investigates how deterministic 6G connectivity can reliably link virtual robotic control (vRC) systems with industrial robots, meeting the stringent latency and reliability requirements of real-time automation.
The result: more agile, autonomous, and scalable industrial operations.
USE CASE 2
SENTINEL
Sensing-Enhanced Network Twin for Intelligent Environments in Manufacturing
SENTINEL leverages multi-sensor fusion to build real-time digital twins of industrial environments. Using existing 5G/6G infrastructure for continuous monitoring, SENTINEL enhances situational awareness, improves robot coordination, and reduces the need for dedicated sensor hardware.
The outcome: smarter, safer, and more efficient factory floors.
The Consortium
PRIME-6G brings together a diverse Consortium of 13 partners from 6 European member states, combining expertise in telecommunications, industrial automation, AI, robotics, and research. This cross-sector collaboration is what makes our integrated approach possible: every partner contributes a vital piece of the puzzle.
